Wet Wet Wet Announce Two Intimate Shows to Introduce New Singer Kevin Simm

Wet Wet Wet will be returning to their roots playing two intimate shows to introduce their new singer Kevin Simm, who is best known for his time in noughties pop sensation Liberty X and as winner of the 2016 series of The Voice.

As bass player Graeme Clark explains, the moment Kevin sang with the group it was obvious that he was the man for the job “From the first song we played together, Julia Says, we knew instantly, I knew pretty much in the first 30 seconds. He puts me back in touch with that soul feeling we had when we first started”.  Keyboard player Neil Mitchell agrees, “It just worked, it just seems natural to me”.

Kevin is equally effusive of the band saying, “I was really taken aback, the opportunity to join a band with such amazing songs and great guys and a great fanbase really excites meWhen I first started gigging around the pubs and clubs up North two songs that were always in my set were Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around”.

Bursting onto the scene out of Glasgow in 1987, Wet Wet Wet has undeniably been a musical phenomenon. The band have gone on to sell over 15 million albums and singles, spent over 500 weeks on the UK charts and sold hundreds of thousands of gig tickets.

Original singer Marti Pellow departed the group last year and while the band wish him well, they feel as though they still have something to say musically. Drummer Tommy Cunningham says “All credit to Marti, he said he couldn’t give 100% to Wet Wet Wet . We were only managing two or three shows a year, and as a musician, you can’t do that”.

The band are excited at the prospect of recording new material with Kevin. Graeme Clark “What’s really exciting me is how this is going to manifest itself going forward, we’re going to go out and do dates, and after that, we’ll write some songs”.

Wet Wet Wet 2013 UK & Ireland Tour Announced

Wet Wet Wet have announced their Greatest Hits Tour which will see them tour the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland in December 2013.

An allocation of tickets has been set aside for pre-sale to Wet Wet Wet fans commencing at 9am tomorrow (Tuesday, 23rd April 2013). Tickets will go on general sale at 9am on the morning of Friday 26th April.

As well as having the first chance to buy tickets for all the shows, fans will also have first dibs on the ‘Hot Tickets’ packages. Additionally, fans attending the London and Glasgow shows will have access to the ‘Premium Club’ packages.

Wet Wet Wet – Back In The Park – 25th Anniversary Concert

We are delighted to announce that Wet Wet Wet will be playing a one-off concert in Glasgow to mark their 25th anniversary. The hometown concert by the band will take place on Friday 20 July 2012 at Glasgow Green. It will be an emotional return to the east end of Glasgow for Graeme, Tommy, Neil, and Marti who hosted a huge concert there in 1989, an event still held in reverence by fans throughout the world. This spectacular outdoor event is something that no Wet Wet Wet fan will want to miss.
