Dougie Souness
-

- Born in Glasgow “sometime during the latter half of the sixties”, Dougie’s first job was within the city’s traditional shipbuilding industry, completing his apprenticeship there by day whilst playing drums in bands by nightDougie’s (very) short career as a professional musician came to an end in 1987 when he entered the music business as tour manager with local band ’Wet Wet Wet’. He quickly established himself as a full time member of their management team, a role he continues to fulfil over twenty years later. The management company, ’No Half Measures’, was established in 1999 with the firm intention of working with and developing Scottish artists. A concept that would also prevail with the formation on the record company, ’Measured Records’, in 2002 and publishing company, ’Measured Music’, in 2003. The companies have proven to be extremely successful on an international platform, with every artist and writer involved enjoying considerable success in their fields.Dougie Souness is a board member of the UK MMF (Music Manager’s Forum) and is on the fund raising committee of the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity in Scotland. Dougie, who has been known to jet off to some far flung corner of the globe in pursuit of scuba diving nirvana, “worships” The Who, still plays the drums & still thinks he can play football - or maybe that should be the other way about!

Kate Smith
-
Louise Henderson

- Born in 1987, coincidentally the same year that Wet Wet Wet had their first hit single, Louise Henderson has always had a keen interest in all things musical. She learned the piano at an early age and could read music before she could read! She left school to study Commercial Music at the University of Paisley. Here she would gain experience in all aspects of the music industry, from forming a management and promotion company, to designing and editing a fanzine. She is the newest and youngest recruit at the No Half Measures team and Measured group where she has been described as having many roles such as “everyone’s left arm!”.
- Louise is also a keen photographer and has already built up a decent portfolio of published shots.

Born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, Kate Smith would say that before she was anything, she was a vocalist. Her passion for all things music begins and might very well end with her love of singing. However, what has developed in between is a vibrant and ever-expanding career in the music industry.Starting with an internship at Virgin Records America in the Publicity department (which she acquired by walking defiantly into its head offices in Los Angeles with a plan), Kate formed her early vocation foundations there. In the spring of her last year at university, she acquired her first position as Director of Operations at Landau Music, a record, publishing, and production company lead by famed American TV & Film composer Russ Landau. Kate’s next position would see her take on the challenging role of a multi hat-wearing music business executive at Ajna Music/i3 Records, another LA-based indie label specializing in world and alternative music, shipping product one minute and managing a radio campaign the next. In August of 2005, Kate made the biggest and most mature move of her career, moving to Europe and taking her seat in the thriving British music industry.
Presently, her work with No Half Measures & the Measured group of companies includes record, publishing and management divisions, with a specific brief as product manager and promotions coordinator, where she is finding it her most rewarding experience yet. Day in and day out, she finds herself working with several diverse artists from up-and-coming Scot punk-rockers The Hedrons to high profile Scottish pop institution Wet Wet Wet. Kate hopes to strengthen the company’s reputation as an organisation that appreciates quality music appealing to many types through specialised marketing strategies on a project by project basis.
